Depending on the breed, most dogs should be groomed every 6-8 weeks minimum. Every dog is different, even within the same breeds. Hair grows at different rates on dogs the same as humans. Don't just look at the length of hair on your dogs back. Grooming has great health benefits looking after your dogs skin and keeping hygiene areas clean, trimmed and free from smells and infection. Medical problems can be detected early by a groomer and allow you to get the problem solved with your vet. Catching problems early is not only better for your dog's health, but also avoids huge vet fees.
